Gateway to India and South – Day to day schedule

Day 01 - Arrive in Mumbai

On arrival the guests will be welcomed by the hotel representatives and taken to the hotel. After a traditional welcoming ceremony the guest will be asked to check into their respective rooms. The guest will have to spend the night in the hotel.

Day 02 – Mumbai

Early in the morning the guest will be escorted to the Gateway of India and the Elephanta Caves in Mumbai. Guests will be taken by boat to the Elephanta caves which is a cut cave temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and is situated on the top of a hill on an island.

Day 03 . Mumbai to Goa

Guests will be escorted to the Mumbai airport to board their flight to Goa. On arriving in Goa the guests will be taken to the hotel where they will have to spend the night.

Day 04 . In Goa

This is the most hectic day of the trip as the guests will be taken to both North and South Goa. They will start with North Goa in the morning and will end with South Goa by the night. The tour will include visits to various archeological sights, temples, Churches and old monuments.

Day 05 . Goa

The next day is the most relaxing as it takes you to the serene and calm beaches of Goa. A truly rejuvenating day where you can swim at the beach, shop at the flea market and rejoice at the various food stalls.

Day 06 . Goa - Belgaum . Badami ( 275 kms 6 hrs)

The sixth day involves a visit to the historical city of Badami. A subtle contrast to the night life of Goa Badami is famous for its old forts, Jain Temple & the Jama Masjid, the Kapileshwar Temple and the Ananthashayana temple.

Day 07 . Badami

After resting in the hotel throughout the night the next day involves a visit to the famous Forts, rock cut temples, gateways and the scriptures and sculptures on the walls of the monuments. A city that still has not yet received its due, Badami has to be seen to be believed. Housing some of the most unbelievable pieces of art and architecture this city also has tremendous religious significance. Sheltering the famous Bhuthanatha temple and the tranquil green river which is said to have healing properties this city is one of the oldest Indian cities.

Day 08 . Badami . Aihole . Pattadakal .

This day is dedicated to old Indian architecture since it takes you to Aihole which is popularly referred to as the cradle of Indian Architecture" and Pattadaka which is said to be the land of temples. The temples in Pattadaka represent early Chalukyan architecture, which is an absolute treat to the eyes.

Day 09 – Hospet

The following day the guests are taken on a tour to the beautiful city of Hospet. One of the ancient cities of Karnataka Hospet is renowned for the remains of the medieval Vijaynagar Empire. Said to be one of the most invoking sites across the country Hospet is an archeologist’s delight.

Day 10 . Hospet . Hassan

The next day after a sumptuous breakfast the guests are headed towards the most exciting destination of the tour, Hassan. The famous Chennakeshava Temple is located in Hassan which apparently took 103 years to be built.

Day 11 . Hassan - Shravanabelagola . Hassan

Shravanabelagola, a city that boasts of the rich cultural heritage of Karnataka is situated at a distance of 51 kms from Hassan. One of the most frequented Jain pilgrimage centers in the country Shravanabelagola houses the 17m high monolith of Lord Bahubali.

Day 12 . Hassan . Madikeri

Today the guest will be taken to Madikeri popularly known as the Scotland of India. Some of the prime attractive tourist spots in this part of the country include Madikeri Fort , Abbey Falls and the Nisargadhama.

Day 13 . Madikeri . Mysore

The 13th day takes the visitors through the beautiful roads of Madikeri towards the serene calm hills of Mysore. A distance of 13 kms from Madikeri, Mysore offers the Mysore Palace, Chamundi hills, Nandi bull, a 4.8m monolith and the Brindavan Gardens. After a lovely day dedicated to the peace and beauty of Mysore the guests are taken back to the hotel to rest.

Day 14 . Mysore

The next day includes a visit to the gorgeous city of Somnathpur. A tiny city but of great archeological significance. Somnathpur is well acclaimed for the famous 13th century temple which has three beautiful shrines and is a perfect precedent of the Hoyasala style of architecture.

Day 15 . Mysore - Srirangapatnam . Bangalore

The next morning the guests can relax in their respective hotel rooms and enjoy the marvelous landscapes of Mysore. In the afternoon they are taken to Srirangapatnam via Bangalore. This city also enfolds tremendous historical significance since it was known as the capital of the warrior’s Hyder Ali & his son Tipu Sultan,

Day 16 . Bangalore . Mumbai

The final day is dedicated to the beautiful gardens of Bangalore and a trip to the Vidhan Saudha, the State. s Legislature and Secretariat and the Nandi Temple. It is half day sight seing and the guest are bought back to the hotel in the afternoon. In the evening there is a scheduled flight for Bombay from where they are lead to the hotel for dinner. After dinner the guests are supposed to get ready for a flight back home.
