The beaches in Goa are a major factor that attracts a large number of tourists to this state. It would even not be wrong to call Goa’s beaches the best thing about the state. Goa tourism has an asset in the form of these beaches.

There are around 39 beaches in the state of Goa. The beaches in Goa covering an area of 83 km are categorized as the North Goa and the South Goa beaches. The North Goa beaches have a reputation of being more happening and lively. This results in the large gatherings of people at these beaches. The South Goa beaches are comparatively quieter and less crowded and they are the ideal place for the one’s looking to spend some leisure hours with family and friends. Below is the list of all the beaches in North and South Goa.

A look at the map of Goa will tell you that Arambol Beach is located at the Northern tip of coastline in Goa whereas Talpona Beach is located at the southern most part of the 128 km long coastline. Colva Beach in South Goa is the longest beach in Goa. It covers an area of 20km. Anjuna Beach, Aguada Beach, Calangute Beach and Dona Paula Beach make for the most crowded beaches in Goa and the fact that all these beaches are located in the North of Goa talks for the popularity of North Goa beaches. Bogmalo beach located in the South of Goa is one of the least visited beaches in Goa.
